CRUISE LINES AND THEIR CRUISE SHIPS

This page is a listing of cruise lines and their current cruise ships. Cruise lines will be listed alphabetically. The cruise ships will be listed in the order of the year they originally entered service. Next to each ship I will list the year the ship entered service, followed by the gross registered tonnage(grt) of the ship, and finally passenger capacity based on double occupancy.

This page is to be used as a guide. I say that because there are many sources to research the provided information and not all sources agree on the exact gross tonnage or passenger capacity. The cruise line's own brochures are not precise. I will update this page as changes in the industry occur and my efforts will be to provide the most accurate, current information available. Many cruise lines are swapping ships and investing in their older ships with many upgrades and increased size and passenger capacity. Those upgraded ships and those under construction have not been updated on this page.

The last section of this page will be a listing of "popular" or known cruise ships and their current status.

 WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

The following section is a listing of known/popular cruise ships and their current status. Many cruise ships have remained in service over the years transferring from one company to the next with various name changes. Some ships have not been as lucky and are no longer sailing. The ships will be listed in alphabetical order followed by the year they entered service and the company they originally sailed under. The ship's current name and current company will be listed next. As with the above section, this is to be used as a guide as some of the information is very difficult to verify as different sources have different information. Some ships have sailed for many cruise lines and have had many names; only the most current name and cruise line will be listed. As with the the above section, I will update this page as changes in the industry occur and my efforts will be to provide the most accurate, current information available. I will use the following acronyms for the following cruise lines: CCL=Carnival; CL=Crown Cruise Line; DQS= Delta Qeen Steamboat; HAL=Holland America; NAC=Norwegain American Cruises; NCL=Norwegian Cruise Line; RCL=Royal Caribbean;  Royal=Royal Cruise Line; RVL=Royal Viking Line
